About me

I grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina dreaming that I would someday be the next Mandy Patinkin. Today, I’m a Boston-based theatre director, educator, actor, writer, and Mandy fan.

I caught the acting bug at a young age. Wanting to train as a “serious actor,” I attended the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater BFA Actor Training Program. I also got a BA in Psychology from U of Minn. After graduating, I did the acting thing for a while.

Then, in 2013, I moved to Fort Worth, TX to be the Director of Education, and later, Director of Theatre for Youth, at the historic Casa Mañana Theatre, where I met my beautiful and brilliant wife, Shannon. In 2019, we moved to Boston so I could get my MFA in Directing from Boston University with a graduate certificate in Arts Administration.

Fun fact: I’m part of a proud tradition of Jews writing Christmas musicals. My show Santa Claus: The Musical is currently available through Broadway Licensing.

Currently, I’m an adjunct professor at Providence College and Boston University. When I’m not teaching and/or doing theater, I give historical walking tours of Boston and Cambridge.

I still hope I’ll meet Mandy Patinkin someday.
